mel_9-300x281 AboutMy name is Melanie Nathan and I’m a veteran SEO and Internet marketer with more than 6 years of hands on experience in Search Engine Optimization and Marketing for websites. I believe I possess the ability to understand the plight of today’s small business owners and the challenges they face in trying to get their websites to the top.

My knowledge of Search Engine Optimization was acquired out of sheer necessity since I was eager to make my very first e-commerce website a success. Putting my techniques to work, my site excelled to the top of Google for hundreds of related terms and I became wildly successful at converting those visitors to buyers. When it all got too big for us to handle, we sold the site to a US company and I shifted my focus to helping others achieve this same level of success for themselves. Now, having been both an independent consultant and Director of SEO at a few agencies, I am capable of developing, implementing and managing complex SEO campaigns from concept through deployment.

I have spoken on CBC radio, given numerous presentations on how SEO can benefit a business, I moderate at a popular e-commerce forum, and I continue to hone and develop my editorial skills at the popular directory DMOZ. I’m also an active and enthusiastic member of many social media communities such as facebook, twitter, stumbleupon, sphinn and digg.

Although I am mainly known as a link building ninja, I offer a wide variety of customized SEO and Internet marketing services to small and medium sized business owners because:

  1. I know how hard it is to achieve success.
  2. I know not everyone is a “one size fits all” case.
  3. I know not everyone has a big budget.

Personal Stuff:

I was born and raised by a single dad in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. I am mom to two amazing boys and I married my high school sweetheart 11 years ago. In total we’ve been together for 18 years. This proves that I am either a) incredibly loyal or b) seriously mental.

I spend the majority of my time at home either working, cooking or just hanging out. For fun I like to play video games (especially anything Mario), watch movies and cartoons (Family Guy and SouthPark ftw!), play guitar and I go hot tubing almost every night because, in this climate, it’s the closest thing we have to anything tropical (sad I know).
